Digital Participation

Together with the Flüchtlingskirche (Refugee Church), we are implementing a project to facilitate digital participation for integration projects based in the district of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg and beyond. Its long-term goal is to support these integration projects in the acquisition, maintenance and provision of hardware and infrastructure and to increase the digital skills of their staff and volunteers as well as new Berliners. To this end, we will analyse their needs, their existing resources and ideas for implementing digitalisation.

A more detailed project description in PDF format can be downloaded here.

Digital participation in the integration projects in Berlin Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg

In the period from 15 March to 20 May 2021, we conducted interviews with 13 representatives and employees of the integration projects. The aim of the interviews was to assess their level of digitalisation and digital equipment, to identify support needs, to document the digital changes caused by Covid-19 and to generate empirical values.

The report on the conclusions of the interviews and the resulting recommendations for more digital participation in integration work is now available (in German).

Newsletter of the Digital Participation Project

As part of the Digital Participation project, we published a monthly newsletter for the integration projects in the Berlin district of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg. The aim of the newsletter was to support the district's institutions and non-profit organisations. We compiled information on the topics of digitalisation and digital competences according to the actual needs of the projects. We networked the projects and increased their visibility in the district (in German).
